You are able to have both a normal Facebook messenger conversation as well as a Secret Conversation with the same person. A padlock icon is displayed next to the person’s profile picture to tell you if a conversation is ‘Secret’.
How do you find hidden conversations on Messenger?
It is very easy to find this feature within the Facebook Messenger app. Open the Messenger app and go to the profile icon. Scroll down the menu, and you will see the secret conversations button.
What do secret conversations look like?
Secret Conversations have a black background instead of blue. The feature can be turned on when starting a new message within Messenger. You’ll need to make sure you install the latest version of the iOS and Android app to get it. Messages will only be kept secret if both users have the updated versions.
How can you tell who created a secret conversation on Messenger?
Access the target cell phone and Facebook Messenger. Tap Chats and find the Edit icon in the top right. Click Secret in the top right. Select the name of the person whose conversations you want to review and view their previously sent messages.
