Can Alexa control lights away from home?


Amazon Smart Plug lets you use your voice to control lights, fans, coffee makers, and more. Schedule lights, fans, and appliances to turn on and off automatically, or control them remotely when you’re away. All you need is an Alexa-enabled device.

Can you control Alexa while away from home?

You can control an Echo device remotely by choosing it from the Alexa app. You can talk to Alexa from the iOS or Android app; iPhone, iPad, and Android users can interact with Alexa via an app called Reverb for Amazon Alexa. Or you can purchase an Amazon remote control that lets you control your Echo.

Can Alexa turn on lights away from home?

To turn on the Away Lighting setting, open the Alexa app and navigate to the Guard settings. Tap the Gear icon in the top right corner and select Away Lighting. Under the Lights section, select the lights you’d like to use — for example, one may be an inside lamp or porch light.

Can I use my Alexa in a different house?

To use Amazon Echo in two houses, all you have to do is connect your smart home devices to the Amazon app. Note that each device should have a unique name for you to be able to control both Echo devices in two separate houses.
