Can someone hack my Alexa?

Alexa. It requires only a few seconds of proximity to a vulnerable device while it’s turned on so an attacker can utter a voice command instructing it to pair with an attacker’s Bluetooth-enabled device. As long as the device remains within radio range of the Echo, the attacker will be able to issue commands.

Can someone else connect to my Alexa?

In the Alexa app, go to More > Settings > Your Profile & Family and select your name. Tap Guest Connect, then select the name of your host’s Echo under the Available Connections section. Tap the Join button to access the Echo.

Can hackers hack into Alexa?

Alexa can be hacked in various ways. Most commonly by hijacking Wi-Fi routers and creating false Amazon skills. Through false skills, hacking can happen either by voice squatting or code alterations. In extreme cases, it can also be by activating the device using laser lights and frequencies.

Is someone spying on my Alexa?

No, Alexa does not record all your conversations — just some of them. According to Amazon, Alexa records what you say only after the Echo or Alexa-enabled device detects your wake word. Then — or after you press your device’s action button — Alexa starts recording your request, sending it up to Amazon’s cloud.
